| The Westward Expansion data include layers of territorial expansion, overland westward trails, Native American battles, Oregon Native American tribes (ca. 1850) and the Louisiana Purchase/Native American displacement. | |||||
The Oregon Settlement data include layers of the original Donation Land claims for the northern Willamette Valley with census (1860) and other genealogical attributes. The data also include georeferenced mosaics of the original cadastral survey produced by the General Land Office (ca. 1860), a topographic survey (ca. 1852-1875) and vector layers of historic physical features (water and roads). Excel spreadsheets are downloadable for the 1845-49 OR territorial census, the 1850 OR manuscript territorial census and the 1860 OR manuscript federal census. NOTE: Sample images are sometimes cropped to show detail. Download the metadata to see the full spatial extent of the dataset. |
